They say nothing in life comes free.
But that isn’t the case at Peconic Bay Winery.
Throughout the month of February, the Cutchogue winery will offer a free tasting of five different wines every day from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
That’s something you can swallow easily.
The complimentary tasting will include red and white wines from both Peconic Bay Winery and its sister label, Nautique.
“I guess I’m feeling a little nostalgic,” general manager Jim Silver said in a press release. “In difficult times, it’s sometimes good to look back on the past and try to revive the fun and excitement of discovering new wines and new wineries to visit. I’m hoping to create new fans of our winery, especially visitors to the area that may have never been here before.”
Whites will include a steel-fermented Chardonnay, La Barrique Chardonnay and a Riesling from old vines. One red in the line-up will be a newly-released 2009 vintage Merlot. The tastings will be made up of wines ranging in price from $18 to $56.
“What I love about this promotion is that it’s all about the wine — not the music, not chocolates, not oysters, not cooking demonstrations — just great wine,” Mr. Silver said.
The offer isn’t available during live music performances or to groups of more than 10 people. Discounts can instead be arranged in those scenarios with prior notice.
